SHED

SHED is a design studio working across furniture, objects, and spatial systems. The practice builds knowledge through material research, iterative prototyping, and hands-on production — making is the primary mode of thinking.

Founded by Priyanka Shah, SHED operates as a collective atelier of architects, carpenters, metalworkers, textile practitioners, and material specialists. Ideas are developed through doing:testing, adjusting, and working in a studio that functions as an active workshop and lab. The work draws from everyday construction methods and craft vocabularies — rural, urban, and industrial — with a focus on structural clarity, joinery logic, and material behaviour. Each piece sits within an evolving script: a way of building refined through repetition and time. SHED’s aim is to contribute to contemporary design in India by developing methods, not just
objects; systems, not styles.
